Sheringham and Cromer
the 2 Victorian seaside towns on the Norfolk Coast.
Cromer, famous for its pier (one of the few working examples left in the country), extensive sandy beaches and crab fishing industry is another gem of a photographic location. If the pier, fishing boats & tractors, skyline (dominated by the church tower which is reputed to be the tallest tower in Norfolk) and beach are not locations enough, the streets of Cromer remain little removed from how they looked in the Victorian era.
Sheringham, one of Norfolk's most charming and pretty coastal towns, a town which some say is The Jewel of the North Norfolk Coast is another classic location. Pebble or sandy beaches, groynes and unusual rocks are all to found here, and not forgetting the boating pond.
We will meet at Sheringham for dawn and hopefully a spectacular sunrise. We’ll spend the majority of the morning on the beach before visiting the boating pond and then driving off to Cromer. After a late breakfast we will photograph the pier and surrounding area before going to the beach where plenty of time can be taken photographing the fishing boats, and of cause getting that classic shot of the pier across the wet sand or rolling waves.
The workshop will concentrate on teaching the techniques needed to capture landscape
images in the camera rather than relying on the computer afterwards. With a maximum
of 6 guests per workshop we will have plenty of time for some one-
Teas, coffees and snacks will be available throughout.
